Loyalty application for the CGI kesko supermarket chain
Kesko Corporation is the division's grocery store chains are K-Market, K-Supermarket and K-Citymarket. In 2021, the chains comprised 1,200 grocery stores, run by some 1,000 independent K-retailers. Over 500 of the stores also offered online grocery sales services. Approximately 50% of Finns live less than a kilometre away from a K-food store.
Our task was to create an innovative loyalty system for the CGI Kesko retail chain, encouraging customers to choose CGI Kesko stores to purchase products.
My Chibo is a mobile app designed to help users create a grocery shopping list of their favorite foods.
The app uses a Tinder-like swipe feature to help users choose their menu for the week and get a ready-made list of ingredients with portions, making the experience more interactive and enjoyable.
We started working on the My Chibo app by studying the company's internal analytics and the appropriate segment of users they would like to attract to their stores.
We then conducted research into the needs of this user group and designed the app with mechanics that were convenient for them, using a Tinder-like swipe feature.
We then conducted user testing and made adjustments based on the feedback received to create the best possible user experience. As a result, we developed an application that helps users create a grocery shopping list of their favorite dishes, tailored to the CGI Kesko brand and the specific needs of this company and its customers.
Throughout the project, the team worked closely with different teams from CGI Kesko to ensure the app aligned with their brand and met their key objectives. Once the MVP was approved, the team was able to test the product and collect important analytics from several stores in esppo.
My Chibo passed the company's internal tests and was launched as a pilot project in Helsinki.
